Ole Hagen

Ole Hagen is an artist working in moving image, drawing, sculpture, performance, sound and creative writing. Born in Norway, Ole attended the National Academy of Fine Art in Oslo prior to doing an MA at Chelsea College of Art and Design and a PhD at Goldsmiths College, London.

He currently lives and works in Brighton where he teaches on the Fine Art course at the University of Brighton. As an artist Ole has exhibited nationally and internationally. His most recent group exhibition was Universal Crepitation at the Stephen Lawrence Gallery, London 2020, and most recent solo exhibition Orbitology at Hanmi Gallery, Seoul, 2018. He won the BKH Art Photography Prize 2014, for a film shown at Oslo’s Fotogalleriet.

In 2012 Ole was commissioned to write a novel, Nowhere Less Now as part of Lindsay Seers’ Artangel exhibition at the Tin Tabernacle. A visual representation of a poem featured in Art Licks magazine 2015. He performed his poems live to music as part of Other Suns – Other Shadows at St. Augustine Tower in 2018. Lemon In Orbit is his first collection.
